Textile panel of brocaded silk. With an off-white ground with a floral pattern brocaded in coloured silks. The design consists of a loosely formed meander made from the stems of several isolated flowers. The motifs include a rose with a deep pink centre and white outer petals, and a daisy-like flower with a blue centre and white petals. The silk is made up from a number of fragments. Tissue formed by brocaded wefts not bound by a binding warp. Warp of off-white silk. Weft with an off-white silk ground, flushing and pattern, and brocaded coloured silk wefts.
The ground is woven in tabby and part of the design is formed by the white flushing weft, part of the pattern is weft bound in tabby by a binding warp taken from the ground (4 ground warp threads; 1 binding warp thread). The two effects are used together in most of the flowers. Découpre of 4. Warp threads to cm is 56.
