The fronts, collar, pocket welts and revers are made of white silk taffeta, the fronts pieced at the shoulder with white silk twill. The back is made of bleached linen. The waistcoat and pockets are lined with bleached linen, the collar with pink silk sarsenet; the fronts are faced with pink sarsenet. A ¼ inch (5 mm) wide ribbon of black ribbed silk, embroidered with spangles and French knots of blue silk floss edges the collar, revers, pocket welts, front edges and hems. The waistcoat is embroidered-to-shape with flowers in satin stitch in coloured silks, vertical trails of feather stitch in black silk and silver spangles. The hem and front edges are punched with a repeating motif of a decorative oval with scrolls; each has a floral motif embroidered in the centre. There are 10 worked buttonholes along the left front edge with 10 embroidered buttons on the right front. There are 3 pairs of linen tape ties at the back.
