Woven shawl with a creamy-white ground of silk warp and worsted weft. The border is not marked off in any way from the ground. At the two ends a 2.75 inches band of floral meander crosses the shawl, stopping about 2 inches short of each edge. Above are five 21 inch cones filled with shawl flowers, with a very mannered spray between each, and all detached on the white ground. Colours - red and maroon wool; lilac pink, blue, green, cream and black cotton. Ground 3/1; pattern 2/1 Distinctive self colour edging band/stripe not carried to the edges of the shawl in either direction, in fancy weave forming a lattice pattern. This is made with an additional silk warp in the stripe, and weft in the band. The ends are hemmed, with a silk fringe knotted in, and the strands crossed and knotted again.
