  • Pair of ladies corsets made from pale blue cotton broché with a darker blue floral pattern and trimmed at the top with white machine-made lace, through which is threaded a row of pale blue silk ribbon. They fasten at the front with a busk with five metal studs and loops with an impressed floral pattern and at the back are eight sets of white metal bound eyelets for an adjustment lace. The corsets are machine stitched and very lightly boned, possibly with steels. There is a tape waist-band stitched inside and the corset is finished at the top and bottom with tape. It is machine-stitched and it is not lined. The corsets are short and the back and sides reach only from the bust to the waist. At the front they curve down to just below the waist where there are traces of elastic-webbing, which suggest that there were once blue suspenders. Swan-shaped silhouette. (en)
