There are several decorative patterns in gold thread on the background and with a satin ground. The repeat of the design is 22.5 inches long and it is not complete in the width. There is a selvedge on the left hand side.\n\nTissue with a satin ground, and the pattern is bound in 3 and 1 twill. The twill binds the gold and silver thread in opposite directions emphasising the contrasting surface. Four kinds of metal thread are used: silver fil\u00E9 and fris\u00E9 and gold fil\u00E9 and fris\u00E9. All the coloured silks are brocaded except the green outlining the flowers.
