"Shawl made from woven silk with a red ground on which are narrow white stripes containing brightly coloured rosettes, eight-pointed stars and lozenges. In between are overlapping tape meanders and arabesques on a variety of patterned grounds.\nThere is a narrow border all around the shawl which has a pattern of a multiple ogival lattice containing flower-heads. At either end is a 'van dyke' pattern interrupted by a special motif at the end of each stripe.\nThe colours are wine red, intense mid-blue, dark green, yellow, pink/purple, black and white.\nThere is a simple warp fringe, the additional warp in the white stripe being knotted on top of a similarly knotted red silk fringe. Between these areas the fringe is not knotted.\nThere is a black silk selvedge and the loose silk bound on the back finishes neatly around a cord at the beginning of the selvedge."@en . . .
