Invented by New Jersey printer Benjamin Day in 1879. The process is frequently associated with the work of Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. Overdrachttechniek waarmee oppervlaktepatronen, met name stippen, via een vel celluloid worden overgebracht op papier, metaal of glas. In 1879 bedacht door de drukker Benjamin Day uit New Jersey.
