adj. Term used to describe a woven or printed fabric in which one pattern or colour or thread (yarn) is overlaid on another. It describes a shaded effect achieved by using aternating weft threads of different colours or tones. It also meant crossed with lines. s.m. Termine francese. Effetto di disegno prodotto congiuntamente da due trame di colori o toni diversi che si alternano per creare un tratteggio. Spesso utilizzate nelle aree broccate nel passaggio da un colore all’altro per dare un’idea di tridimensionalità. Efecto de dibujo producido conjuntamente por dos tramas de color o matiz distinto y en el que alternan sus bastas. Se le atribuye al diseñador francés Jean Revel la creación de este efecto. Subst. masc. Effet réalisé par deux trames de tons différents, qui alternent leurs flottés. Cet artifice produit un passage d'un ton à un autre.
