Del árabe annafaya. Tejido fino que se tejía en algodón o seda y que posteriormente se imitó en seda.Dall'arabo an-nafâya. En Portugais signifie "le fil que fait la chenille avant de commencer à filer le cocon" (autrement dit, en français, la blaze). Le mot espagnol Anafaya est le nom d'une étoffe. Il semble qu'à l'origine c'était une étoffe de coton, ensuite confectionnée avec des fils de schappe, à Valence (Espagne).n.
