Pair of Pistols in a Case with Accessories
1867
These centre-fire pistols are elaborately decorated in Renaissance style and were probably made as exhibition pieces. Certainly, they have never been fired, as shown by the fact that the bullet mould is filled with copper plugs. Springer was one of the most important Viennese gunmakers of the 19th century. He was appointed Purveyor of Guns to the Imperial Court in 1853.
