Dress fabric fragment of brocaded silk. Jacquard woven lilac silk tabby with a pattern of scrolling stems in white (pattern weft bound in 3/1 twill on the surface, and in tabby on the back) surrounding a small spray of flowers and berries brocaded in shades of green, pink and brown silk.
The small fragment has a ribbed selvedge on the right side. An area of plain lilac silk at the top and bottom seems to indicate that it was intended as a sample.
