Table frontal of tapestry weave silk (kesi). Woven with bright coloured silks on a ground of gilt paper thread tinted with water-colour paint. In the centre of the main panel two birds are standing on conventional rockery. Growing from these rocks is a peony and a magnolia tree and another flowering tree. In the centre of the top panel is a white elephant with a vase on its back. Vases of artists implements, books, fungus and bamboo and a stand with a dish of finger citrons can be seen depicted on either side of the central motif. The borders are composed of pairs of peaches alternating with bats and flowers.
