Panel of blue silk, embroidered with coloured silks and a little gold thread in long and short satin and stem stitches. Some minor details of the rocks and trees are painted.
The scene is a Taoist Paradise with rocks, trees, waterfalls and, in the distance, mountain peaks and wispy clouds. In the centre foreground stands Hsi Wang-mu (The Queen Mother of the West) with a phoenix. In her right hand, she is holding the peach of Immortality. She is served by two attendants, one of whom offers a plate of peaches and the other holds a large fan.
Preserved in specially made Chinese wood frames with gilt mount.
