Glass beaded purse with knitted silk, England, 1800-1829.Beaded purse. Bucket-shaped with a draw-string top and a large bead tassel handing from the bottom. Knitted in horizontal bands of buff, yellow, maroon, fawn and blue silk with yellow and blue bead decoration. Most of the purse is decorated with regularly spaced blue beads but the two narrow bands are decorated with the Greek Key pattern in yellow beads. A fringe of blue beads run round the purse just below the centre line and the tassel is of mixed blue and yellow beads. The top is bound with maroon ribbon and the draw-stings are of the same material.
