Silk parasol and cotton slip cover, England, 1865-1870Parasol of green silk, unlined. Pagoda shape with a pointed bone tip and wooden crook handle. Ribs and stays are of japanned metal with a circular section. There are brass wire catches to hold it open and shut. The rib tips are of japanned metal surmounted by small bone knobs. Machine-stitched. With a slip cover of natural brown cotton holland and hand-stitched.
