Ribbon of painted silk taffeta and cut work. White taffeta ground wit a zig-zag pattern in which one element is delicately painted with a floral pattern and the other is punched with a filling like lace. Each one of these differs slightly. The ribbon is unfinished and this shows that the pattern was first drawn, then the 'lace' insertions made and lastly the flowers painted, one colour at a time. Only the purple has been applied to the end of the ribbon.
