an Entity references as follows:

Man’s waistcoat with a round neckline, curving fronts and skirts reaching to mid-thigh. Each front has a pocket and pointed pocket flap. The fronts and pocket flaps are made of figured ivory silk taffeta brocaded with silk floss and silver thread in a pattern of flowers, clover leaves and stripes. The pockets are made of linen. There are 18 worked buttonholes along the left front (the bottom 5 uncut) and 5 uncut buttonholes on each pocket flap. The waistcoat was extensively altered in the 19th century, probably for theatre costume. The back skirts were removed, the back replaced, the fronts relined and buttons removed.
