Woman's sash (maru-obi) of brocaded silk. On a black ground there is a lattice pattern filled with quatrefoils, all worked in gilt-paper strips. On this ground are brocaded delicately grouped flowers as though they were growing through the lattice; they are arranged on a point repeat. This pattern repeats at short intervals brocaded in varying colours, which includes pink, red, white, green and yellowish green. The ground is worked as a twill.
