White satin-weave ground worked with polychrome floss silk and metallic yarns in satin, split and other stitchs. A central cornucopia filled with naturalistic flowers. To the right, a tombstone with the initials ‘C W', and a dome, supported by the columns, beneath which is a flaming urn. To the left, a large vase, bearing the word ‘Amitie', surmounted by a floral spraw. In each upper corner is a framed landscape with water and ruins. Across the bottom run horizontally various leafy and flowering vines. The initials ‘E W' and ‘B S' also appear in the upper right field. Edged with pink silk. A sheet of paper is attached at the top edge as a covering. Paper worn and stained; silk slightly soiled along exposed edges. Stitches: fancy couching, French knots, running, satin, shaded satin, stem; metallic yarn embroidered in couching and stem.
