Design of horseman and horsewoman flanking large central vase of flowers; eagles, small birds, carnations and other flowers fill intervening spaces; border around all four sides of stemmed flowers. Black and brown yarns have largely rotted out. Ground: thin ivory linen. Design: central two-handled vase with roughly symmetrical flower arrangement and perching birds, flanked by horseman on left, horsewoman on right, small flowers and birds in interspaces; eagle hanging downward in each upper corner; narrow flowering vine border. worked with silks in red, blue, light neutral yellow, pale bluish green, brown, black, ivory, and silver metal thread in darning, satin, chain and herringbone stitches. Black silk now largely disappeared. Machine stitched to green cotton moiré poplin.
