This silk programme was produced to commemorate the performances of Mrs Jarley's Amateur Company at the Theatre Royal, Jersey. The company appeared under the patronage of the Lieutenant Governer, Major-General E. Markham, and of Colonel A.J. Paterson and the officers of the Prince of Wales Own (Yorkshire Regiment). The programme details all the scene changes and in Act II, scene 2, promises the "Grand entrance of The Jersey Lily", apparently a racehorse named after the celebrated actress, Mrs Langtry.
