This silk programme was produced to commemorate the performances of Mrs Jarley's Amateur Company at the Theatre Royal, Jersey. The company appeared under the patronage of the Lieutenant Governer, Major-General E. Markham, and of Colonel A.J. Paterson and the officers of the Prince of Wales Own (Yorkshire Regiment). The programme details all the scene changes and in Act II, scene 2, promises the "Grand entrance of The Jersey Lily", apparently a racehorse named after the celebrated actress, Mrs Langtry. The programme itself has the added interest of being printed on coloured silk: most silks are either cream or white. Associated production: Ali Sloper Baba and the Forty Burglars. Playwright: Miss B. M. Peyton. Performing company: Mrs Jarley's Amateur Company. Theatre Royal, Jersey, 9.10.1892. Performance category: Drama.
