An original note accompanying this dress and pasted into the acquisiton register notes that this dress was worn by Sophia Donaldson for October 1821. The word October is slightly illegible and open to interpretation. There is a record of a Sophia Donaldson having married William Artindale in 1821, on December 17th at Kingston-upon-Hull.
