  • Verwijst naar de stijl van Franse wandtapijten, keramiek, pietra dura en andere kunstnijverheid welke in de kunstwerkplaatsen van de Gobelins werden vervaardigd. De stijl wordt met name geassocieerd met werken die vanaf het einde van de 17de eeuw tot het einde van de 18de eeuw zijn geproduceerd. Kenmerkend voor de wandtapijten in deze stijl zijn de klassieke, fijn gedetailleerde barok- en rococo-ontwerpen, bedoeld als imitatie van olieverfschilderijen. Op het gebied van de keramiek en andere kunstvormen wordt de Gobelins-stijl gekenmerkt door een voorkeur voor rijke materialen en een grote mate van detaillering, overeenkomstig de heersende smaak bij het Franse hof.
