| - Printed silk shawl. Double sided. With the Paisley pattern. Heavy twilled silk shawl block printed on both sides with a small scale pattern of adored and confronted pines, leaves and fancy fillings in bright pink, yellow, orange, lime green and dark grey. A three-inch border in the same colours, with interlocking curving forms and ogival patterns, runs down both sides and across the bottom, leaving an outer area at each hem for printed 'gates', again in these colours.
Into the narrow white hem is knotted a white silk fringe with every fifteen knots of white 2-ply silk followed by five of mixed deep pink, pale green and yellow. One hem is sewn to show on one face of the shawl, the other is on the other, so as not to show when the shawl was worn folded not edge to edge. (en)
