Reticule of embroidered blue silk and linen with wool in shades of blue, yellow, brown, red and black in tent stitch. The lower part of the reticule is formed by a flat semi-circle of canvas which has been stretched to form a regular pattern of raised squares. There are embroidered alternately in yellow and brown, with red and blue motifs in the centre of each. The area between is filled with blue and the edges are decorated with blue cord. The canvas is lined with blue silk which is extended to form the upper part of the bag. The top is gathered onto three thin whale-bones or sticks and the slit openings at the sides are also stiffened. A double-loop handle of blue cord is joined to either end of the top, and is decorated with two blue silk sides. There are blue satin bows at the bottom of the side slits.
