PRINCE'S COAT Silk thread wrapped in silver has been used to weave the fabric of this costly child's coat. It is highlighted with strips of silver ribbon (gota). The coat is a miniature version of an adult's angarkha, an elegant garment characterised by a close-fitting circular neckopening and a chest panel which fastens neatly underneath. Silk and silver-wrapped silk thread Northern India or Hyderabad, 1850-1900 Given by Elizabeth McKee V&A: IS. 82-2001 [03/10/2015-10/01/2016]
