Dull golden colored satin ground; the design of interlacing ribbons forming ogees in which are symmetrically arranged sprats of pomegranates held with a crown, or a straight sword with ribbons and flanked by two scallop shells, is of dark red cut velvet and gold. Much of the gold which was gilded gold beater's skin is worn off leaving the yellow ground exposed. Much worn and mended. A piece of the same type is owned by Königliche kunstgeweerbemuseum, Berlin, and is called "Italian, 1st half of the 16th century." Pots of flowers are substituted for the swords and shells, in the Berlin piece.
