The culture spread over the lowlands now occupied by the North Sea, from Germany to the Netherlands and south-east England. Some scholars believe that it may have had ties to eastern Europe. (en)

Deze kenmerkt zich door een terugkeer naar technologieën behorend bij het koude klimaat dat volgde op de mildere interstadiale periode en de Hamburgcultuur, met inbegrip van een typische geweivormige bijl die de 'bijl van Lingby' wordt genoemd, afneembare harpoenpunten van gewei, harpoenachtige pijlpunten met afneembare schacht, andere herbruikbare gereedschappen en decoratieve motieven die lijken op die van de Hamburgcultuur, zoals visgraatmotieven, meanders en geometrische figuren.
