Ribbon of woven silk taffeta. White silk tabby ground with a broad tartan satin stripe to either side of the ribbon and made up of differently coloured stripes of varying thickness. A similar broad stripe is made across the ribbon by wefts grouped in the same colour combinations, and bound to give a vertically stripes effect. The colours are royal blue, black, blue-green and pink and red. Label on the back showing the ribbon was exhibited at the 1851 Great Exhibition.
