The outer border of the canopy is of silver tabby composed of plain tabby with a silver strip. The inner silk consists of two panels of late bizarre pattern carried out chiefly in gold and silver thread on a red satin ground with a few details brocaded in coloured silks; each is not a full width. The pattern has curling scrolls with a few semi-naturalistic flowers. The inner silk tissue has a satin ground, the pattern bound in 3/twill. Silver and silver gilt filé and frisé form the main parts of the pattern. The canopy is lined with white silk.
