Horizontalbnad between topand lower panels: insects, flowers, birds and animals. Worked with polychrome silks, a little green chenille, polychrome metal bullion and frise threads, in satin, stem couching, back, chain, tent (applique) adn a variety of buttonhole stitches. Colored glass beads usedfor eyes of two dogs in hunting panels; seed pearls used for details of costumes, jewelry, and initials; silk braid used for ribbon; bits of mica (?) used for mirror and window panes. Interior: top: large mirror edged with marbled paper; lower part: divided into large central section with coat of arms painted on white satin under glass at bottom; several smaller sections containing drawers, small compartments and in upper corner two small square bottles with round pewter (?) tops, one small square engraved metal ink box; the two side compartments covered with faded pink plush; compartmetns listed with gray paper which has stamped silver minute rosette design on edges.
