Buddhist’s priests robe (kesa) of traditional patched style. The silk has a satin weave ground, with polychrome patterning wefts forming the design of birds among scrolling peonies. Six additional patches at the four corners and centre top have a smaller scale design of flower and phoenix bands in colours on a white ground. The lining is of blue shot silk.
