  • Fossiel hars uit Roemenië. Vergelijkbaar met succiniet, maar men dacht dat het een andere botanische oorsprong heeft. Uit recente onderzoeken blijkt dat de verschillen eerder een indicatie zijn dat rumaniet een succiniet is dat in het oligoceen is aangetast door gedeeltelijke thermische degradatie tijdens de vorming van de Kliwa-zandsteenformaties waarin het wordt aangetroffen.
